It’s hard to believe, but Photoshop is nearly 20 years old. The original Apple Macintosh version was written in 1988 by brothers Thomas and John Knoll. The first full version published by Adobe appeared on the Macintosh in 1990. The entire program came on a single 1.44MB floppy disk.

Photoshop has grown and changed over the years, but has always incorporated the latest developments, reinforcing its position as the industry standard for professional image editing. The first Windows version (v2.5) appeared in 1992, layers were introduced in version 3.0 in 1994, multiple undo history in version 5.0 in 1998, and camera RAW support was added with version 7.0 in 2002. The concept of Creative Suite, incorporating and harmonising a whole range of Adobe’s other programs, including ImageReady, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, Encore and AfterEffects, was introduced in 2003 along with Photoshop 8.0, known as Photoshop CS.  Price and suitability

Since its earliest days, Photoshop has been preferred by and developed for imaging professionals, including photographers, artists and designers. It isn’t intended for amateur home users, and people just looking for an easy way to resize and brighten up a few snapshots would be much better off looking elsewhere. Photoshop is priced to reflect this. The Windows version of Photoshop CS3 costs around £500 or more, while the premium CS3 Extended version, which includes the ability to work with video and 3D content, costs a hefty £800, and those prices are from discounted online retailers, the list price for CS3 Extended is a wallet-crushing £1,150.

Even upgrading from earlier versions is expensive, with the CS3 upgrade pack (which will upgrade from Photoshop 7.0, CS or CS2) costing around £160 and the CS3 Extended Upgrade pack costing £390. However since it is still possible to buy CS2 for around £285, this is actually a cheaper alternative to buying the full product. WinRAR is a shareware file archiver and data compression utility developed by Eugene Roshal and distributed by Alexander Roshal,^[3] first released in autumn of 1993.^[4] It uses the RAR archive file format, proprietary to its developer, and can also create archives in the ZIP format. ^[5] WinRAR runs under Microsoft Windows in GUI mode; there are command-line versions, called "RAR", for Mac OS X, Linux, FreeBSD, Windows console mode, andMS-DOS.

From version 5, a new archive format, RAR5, is supported, incompatible with the previous one, but also using file extension .RAR.^[6] With the introduction of RAR5, the older format is referred to as RAR4. The new version can open and create RAR4 archives, but older versions do not support RAR5 archives.

The software is distributed as a shareware and anyone may use it during a test period of 40 days at no charge. Following this test period, the software license requires purchase of a license to continue using the software. Very low! µTorrent is designed to consume as few resources as possible to avoid impacting your computer use. µTorrent will work on Windows XP and up, including Windows 7. The Mac version supports OS X 10.5 and up.

what are lable and what can they be used for

Labels are a powerful feature in µTorrent. They can be used for simply labeling your torrents to identify them, or to use for sorting the torrents more easily. For example, you could label your torrents from private trackers as "private", and then click on the Labels column to easily sort all your private torrents. You can select one torrent or more than one to apply a label.

Simply right click on the torrent(s), go to Label, and click "New label..." to add a label, or select an already existing label. This can be done regardless of it a torrent already had a label.

To remove a label from a torrent, right click the torrent, Labels -> Remove Label.

Unused labels are automatically removed from the list.

If you would like labels that never disappear, you can add persistent labels in Advanced -> User Interface.

The benefit of normal and persistent labels is that they can be used in tandem with "Move completed downloads to" in the Folders section. The label would be used as a subdirectory to place the completed download in.
